🍎 Fun to the CORE! 🍏

First grade was filled with learning, discovery, and plenty of apple-themed fun during Apple Exploration Day! Students combined skills from math, science, reading, and writing as they explored apples in a variety of hands-on activities.

Our young scientists learned about Johnny Appleseed and enjoyed apple-themed read-alouds before becoming apple experts themselves! Students carefully dissected apples and learned about the different parts of an apple by labeling its anatomy. They also put their math skills to work by measuring the circumference of an apple using string and rulers, weighing apples with a pan balance, and measuring an apple's height using Unifix cubes.

The learning continued with fun coloring pages, puzzles, games, and other apple-themed activities. Apple Exploration Day was a wonderful way for our first graders to see how different subjects connect while having fun and learning through hands-on experiences. It was certainly a day that was the core of a great learning experience!
