Therapy Dogs Visit Our School to Help Students Shine as Readers!

Tinc Road Elementary School welcomed some very special four-legged visitors: therapy dogs! These gentle, friendly pups joined our classrooms to help students practice their reading skills in a fun and supportive way.

Reading to therapy dogs is a proven way to build confidence in young readers. For many students, reading aloud can feel a little intimidating. But when they’re reading to a dog, all that nervousness melts away! Therapy dogs listen attentively without judgment, providing a calm and comforting presence that helps children focus and enjoy the experience. 

This visit was made possible through a partnership with Creature Comfort Pet Therapy, a group dedicated to bringing the joy of therapy animals to schools and communities. The dogs are specially trained to work with children and love helping them learn and grow.

We’re so grateful for the chance to host these amazing therapy dogs. They brought joy and encouragement to our students, while helping to foster a love of reading. We can’t wait for their next visit!
