Guidance

Welcome to a new school year here at Tinc!  We look forward to working with you and your child throughout the year ahead. As the school counselors, we address the needs of all students in the areas of academic, career and personal/social development through classroom guidance, individual student planning, responsive services, and system support – working with students through school-wide events, classroom lessons, in small groups and individually. Our goal is to provide all students with the support that they need to thrive as students and individuals throughout their elementary school years and beyond.

As always, we encourage parents to communicate with their children as much as possible. Children learn from watching and listening to adults, especially their parents, guardians and loved ones. Talk with your child about the importance of education and help him or her develop a positive attitude toward school by showing you are interested in his or her assignments. We encourage you to build up your child's confidence by listening to him or her and helping your child work through any concerns or problems as they arise. What adults perceive to be a small problem, may be a really big dilemma from a child's point of view. Try to actively support school and extracurricular activities with your son or daughter and always encourage healthy friendships in and outside of school.

Please look through the guidance website at the links provided. You will find a lot of useful information regarding our counseling program, parenting tips, and community resources. Please contact us if we can be of assistance to you or your child.
